Trial Healing 101

Hi Everyone,

I put the below video together as an aid for some of the folk in my guilds who are looking to become healers for trials. I tried to capture most of the basics, but I probably missed a few things :-). There are a lot of great healers out there (Like VanaEVR!) but there isn't much healer specific content. Over the next few weeks I'll clip every boss fight for vet trials and provide a tutorial of how I heal them. Everyone is different but it might prove useful for fellow healers who are just starting to learn trial healing. Take a look and let me know what you think:

I have also done a separate video just for CP:

Here is my first Trial Healing tutorial (for vAA), the rest of the trials will follow over the next couple of weeks:

Here is a vet Helra healer tutorial I put together:

Here is a vet Sanctum Ophidia tutorial I put together:

Here's a healer tutorial I did for vDSA

Very nice man, lots of great information here for anyone looking to heal difficult content. Glad to see an effort to shed more light on healing best practices in end-game!

If I threw in my two cents, I'd add that shooting for an Infused Master's Restoration Staff would arguably be best in slot. As you said in the video, our healing output is already so high the added % from powered isn't as attractive as it sounds. With the infused trait, the stamina recovery given to your group is hugely increased. In an environment where you really don't the need added healing of a powered staff, I would urge people to use Infused instead.

Great point, infused would definitely be BIS for a master resto! Thanks.

    Nice video! =)

Infused can also be BIS on back bar if you go crushing/weakening enchantment on a non master lightning staff. Or just go charged on the lightning staff (with shock enchant) for the minor vulnerability debuff.

I am a huge fan of repentance, it's possible to have both radiant aura and repentance in the group since there are two healers.

Guilds: Hodor / Exterminatus / Aurora Avalonis

    Vanady Y – Templar – High Elf / Vaine Evr – NB – Dark Elf / Va’shjra Yaz – DK – Khajiit / Vasorcys Sorceress – Breton / Vanaya Evr – Warden – High Elf

Thanks! I'll try post a few more with specific boss fight dynamics and how I do them.

Hmm. Do you run repentance and radiant for all trials? We have so few stam in the group usually, and if they're running VO they have great sustain in mobs and most boss fights don't have a ton of adds... hence why I have never tried to run it in a trial environment. The heal and stam recovery is great just not sure if it's a better trade off than something else you could slot?

We always use repentance and ele drain in trials, sometimes radiant aura (aura seems to be bugged though I heard). We use repentance cause we have to block and dodge all the time cause we stack a lot of trash and run to be as fast as possible. Time is very important if you want to improve the score. Would never swap this skill out, it's free, heals quite a lot and increases your regen.

Thanks, makes sense to me I will ensure one of us morphs it and tries it out (We are running vAA HM tonight so we will test it there). What is bugged about Aura? Is it not applying consistently? Also, just out of curiosity do you run yellow orbs or blue orbs? Some people think healers should run yellow and tank / off tank should run blue, but we find it works best when we all run blue considering how much of our damage comes from Magicka.

Minor magickasteal from radiant aura only applies to one person, but I didn't test that myself, only heard it.

I always run blue orbs and the other healer yellow orbs. The off tank also has blue orbs. I wouldn't recommend both healers using yellow orbs, blue orbs restore more magicka on trash.

Wow... that would suck if it's true... I'll run some tests with my group. On the orb front it makes sense. We used to have healers run one of each, now we run both blue for the magicka. I guess it depends on the group and how good they are at sustaining.

Did you perchance ever get a chance to confirm Minor Magicka steal only applies to one person?

No, haven't tested it. We use elemental drain.

I've switched to Ele now too, it just seems to work better when you can clearly see if it's up!
