The greatest quest reward in any Elder Scrolls game?

Hey everyone!

We have a question for you all.  What is greatest quest reward you've received from ANY Elder Scrolls game?

Think long and hard about this one!  Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

I would say it also depends on the quest. If it's easy, the reward should be lowered. Higher, the reward should be higher. But I honostly think that, with my Elder Scrolls experience, the Mace of Molag Bal from that quest you get in Markarth is the best reward. It's a really decent mace, with awesome enchantments. And you only have to kill one guy for it, and he doesn't even fight back. Sure, it might be cruel, but the mace is worth it.

Skeleton key for sure!  I have NEVER turned in the key to complete the quest.  Not sure if it qualifies as a quest reward?

Although, it does of course break the lock pick minigame.

Gray Fox's Cowl. No contest. +200 weight you can carry AND Detect Life? Yes, please! Plus, any crimes/naughty things you commit while wearing it are infamy points toward the Gray Fox, not your character.

I even kinda like that it comes with a drawback: if you're caught wearing it, you get arrested.

I was gonna say Skeleton Key as well if it counts as a partial quest item... who doesn't like a unbreakable picklock, especially those who are low levels in their lockpicking skill!

@ElderScrollsOTR you don't get caught, you just end up having to murder a dozen guards but then you take the Cowl off and everything's hunky dory. My favorite quest reward by far, almost threw my controller through the TV when I accidentally dropped it and glitched/disappeared through the floor. Thank god for autosave.

Perhaps the greatest quest rewards don't have to be material in nature...

I'd love any reward that adds to Magic Resistance, such as the "Agent of Mara" effect.

Although, in Morrowind, the Moon-and-Star ring was an awesome Quest "reward"...as it allows all to know that your character is truly the Nerevarine, living proof of Indoril Nerevar reincarnated!

Then there's also the "Cure" for Corprus Disease that you receive from Divayth Fyr in his tower.  It gets rid of all the negative effects, but all the positive bonuses remain! (Plus the character is now effectively immortal, at least aging has stopped)

Another favorite of mine would have to be Nerveshatter, BEST Warhammer in Oblivion via the Shivering Isles expansion.

7 MONTHS OF GATHERING THE NEEDED PARTS ONLY TO FIND OUT THE THING DISAPPEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arena was a long and confusing game.

@Lordshayne Well, you could consider the Staff of Chaos a "Godsent" artifact...

    Oblivion's Skeleton Key for me.

A rather easy quest for the ability to bypass any and every chest in the game~ (the +40 to lockpick was also nice I suppose)

”To face me in all my glory would be less than sporting, so you shall face but one of my aspects, the one you have chosen. We have little time–the Bloodmoon sinks low in the sky. Prepare yourself, mortal, for now you are the Hunted.

I hope Akatosh is EATEN BY ALDUIN!

I still have horrible memories of Arena, those hard dungeons and the confusing, long storyline.

@Lordshayne You know what could also be great quest reward?...That unique Shout of Alduin's!

When you finally manage to absorb his Soul, you gain all three Words of Power of the "Meteor Storm/Dragon Storm Call" Shout!!!

@GarlasMalatar I don't think the Dovahkiin ever absorbs Alduin's soul.

@Telvanni Veros No, the Dovahkiin does not, you are correct!

I was saying that it would be a great Quest Reward if you finally did absorb his Soul!

Oh yeah, that would be pretty cool. Personally, I think Goldbrand is the best quest reward, because you can turn it into Eltonbrand.

@Telvanni Veros Oh, yeah...that obscure easter egg in Morrowind.

A sword that says "Go to Hell, Carolina!" when you've got a certain amount of Gold...I actually thought it was totally fake at first, until I tried the method.
