Questions:

1. Why WM?

Because the bear ult keeps WM uptime high.

2. Why Bull Netch?

It does wonders for sustain, buffs damage passively and we have the bar space.

3. Why bear Ult?

Because it does around 15% dps...an insane amount!

    Hello,

Could you say why you slotted the bird? Just to do some ranged damage if needed? Or because of passives?

For both of those reasons. But its really a flex spot.

Is that vigor on your second bar? Just curious if so, why do you use vigor instead of fungal growth? Doesn't fungal have a stam morph? The heal is more potent too right?

    It is.

But a HoT (like the case of Vigor) is generally preferred over a burst heal (in the case of Soothing Spores); burst heal has the tendency to over-heal in a given instance for solo applications like vMA. This means that you may not benefit from the full amount of heal and thus does not constitute efficient use of stamina (Soothing Spores also costs more than Vigor).

Yes, one can cast it multiple times to heal against subsequent incoming damage, but every time you cast a burst heal, you waste a GCD which could have been used to cast a damage skill, not to mention any potential sustain problems exacerbated by the inefficient use of a healing skill.

    e pluribus unum

ok i can see the point in it. thanks.  I don't know how current the information is but i was reading around and seeing that a lot of people are playing stam dps right now and refusing to play magicka dps? If this is true, how does stam warden measure up in comparison to other stam dps builds for PVE content?

Im back to the game and I decided to update the Warden build, since thats the most under played class in PvE.

    Welcome back Nos!

I was thinking of levelling a warden with the XP event coming up. Never played it before but was wondering how the bear survives in trials or would you switch to bow ulti?

Thanks! I got a really good pc for my comeback so no.more crazy fps drops:) I've yet to test the bear in trials, but I did compare Ballista versus bear on the dummy, and it is lower dps, but not by a whole lot. To be honest you are losing around 3k dps if you use Ballista. However there are things you can do if not using a bear. You can put netch on back bar and slot cutting dive on the front bar. Then replace at least one HA>Skill>HA>Subterranian Assault on the front bar with LA>Cutting Dive>LA>Skill>LA>Subterranian Assault. The bear is up every other rotation so running Cutting dive, you don't really get many chances to use it, because you don't have the stam to sustain with 2 HA per rotation, but without bear you can use Cutting Dive to fill that gap. The class is definitely fun to play though, so I highly recommend trying it:) check out my rotation video for reference.

Just finished levelling my stam warden, although the xp event is a gift and curse and got to 50 before most of my skill lines and fighters guild. Really liking it though and it’s a different play style altogether but enjoyable.

I’ve tried cutting dive but just don’t like the animation so swapped out for shrouded daggers which hits for around the same and has multi target hits. Should hopefully be able to test out in the next few days once  I have it properly levelled.

I’ve been trying out red mountain with mechanical acuity and RM is doing 3k+ dps. Is it a set you’ve used much? Won’t be bis but fun to play with and adds some nice burst. Might be one I use in VMA until I get war machine.

Hey! Glad you're trying the class out! It's a ton of fun:) The reason I didnt go with a spammable is because heavy attacks hit like a truck and we need many of em yo sustain Shalks on cooldown. In an ideal scenario I suppose you can replace some heavies with LA>Spammable. The reason I would keep Dive though is because the damage is high and it gives 2% overall damage increase due to passives.

This is nice, usually don't see stamden doing too well. Quick question, if I don't currently have wm daggers what can I run as an alternative to wm?

I run War Machine jewelry and two body pieces.  Three acuity body pieces and acuity weapons, the uptime on acuity will still be maxed using this setup.

You never want to run WM on weapons. Like the poster below commented, do Acuity weapons.

Would it be worth it if you swapped out cutting dive on the backbar and stuck bird of prey into the rotation?
