Noob question (new player)

Hey guys!

First of all I'm happy to have found a good eso forum.

So let's get to my question:

During the first two "tutorial" maps (Stros M'kai & Betnikh) my low level sorc could deal crit-damage from 14k to 20k. especially with triggered Crystal Fragments.

Now at lvl 28 my highest crit is 10.8k. How's that even possible?

Thank you in advance.

What level are your weapons? As you level, your old weapons get "less powerful", aka they scale to your level instead of higher level weapons doing higher damage.

Yes, as mentioned by @awein2319 in the post above, the level scaling system works with the assumption that you are using level-appropriate gear (armour, weapon and jewellery), such that the amount of extra stats you get (due to said scaling) decreases as you level. In effect, if you use the same low level gear that you had now, you will have lower overall stats and attributes, thus the lower crits that you have observed. Solution is to wear level-appropriate gear with the appropriate enchantments; the quality doesn't matter as much, superior would work well enough for leveling.

    Thanks for your answers!

I use self crafted lvl 26 gear. It's just two lvls below my character (sword and shield + heavy armor) Even for a tank a 10.8k crit is low.

I know low level you use whatever weapon is available. If you were using a 2H weapon or Dual wields, that would have a great impact on your overall damage output and crit totals.

I assume that other than the level of gear, the item set and pieces are the same. If they are not, then any discrepancy in those aspects can also result in significantly different damage numbers due to level scaling (which scales the respective bonuses up to a nominal c160 standard).

If I had read your article earlier, it would have been different. My ideas will definitely become more complete if you add your comments. It's so wonderful source
