How's Valkyn Skoria?

I'm debating on redownloading the game and playing at least casually. How's Valkyn Skoria in terms of Sorcerer DPS now? Still bad or is it viable? I know Illambris is the best but I was wondering because I have many, many perfect pieces of Skoria but I left before Illambris existed.

While I'm at it what traits should my weapons have now? I looked at the trait changes and Infused looks slightly better than it was before...I'm going to assume Divines is still king.

About Valrien:

Valrien hasn't shared anything about themselves.

With the buff to mundus stones that matter, divines isn't going anywhere. You're correct in assuming it's still the king of pve armor traits. I've seen videos of people using Skoria on stamsorcs in vMA. Extra health is always good and the burst damage is nice. Though I haven't tried it in vMA myself, on my stamsorc it procs quite often. In fact, I'd say it procs more often than Illambris. They both have pros and cons. Enemies sometimes walk out of Illambris. Sometimes Skoria doesn't always lock on the enemy you want to kill first when dancing around like a monkey. Infernal Guardian is decent. It's usually enough to kill low health adds without doing anything else or even bothering to look. It also seems to proc more than Illambris if shield is up every 6 seconds. Nirn seems to be best back bar staff. Infused front. This pertains to group play for the most part. Solo, sharpened could still be your friend and as of right now during clockwork city pts testing sharpened is taking the lead once again.

Usually I tend to focus on group play scenarios (mainly a PvE player, if I decided to play again I will ease myself back into PvE).

I mostly speak from the perspective of a magicka Sorcerer (Dunmer specifically). Good to know that Skoria is nice in solo content though as I still need to get myself a vMA staff (months of trying to get the stupid thing and I never managed to do it).

Characters: Valrien Dravic (Dunmer Magicka Sorcerer)

Scores: vMA (499,956) (Probably Null Now)

It works good, but not good enough.I tested It and got almost similar result as Ilambris shock part,if U want to use blockade of fire, and wave FP,Ilambris will beats Valkyn a lot.Or with bonus HP,Valkyn is an optional set for Heavy attack build

*I was wondering if divines is still the go-to trait for mag dps gear? if that's still the case is there any other traits I should have with divines? the last question I have is the traits I should have on my weapons, its not the same for both bars correct? Any information you guys can give me would be appreciated.

Infused is stronger as a weapon trait than it used to be, and is obviously the most flexible trait. Sharpened was nerfed from its previous godliness. Whether or not nirnhorned is good has a lot to do with how much of your damage comes from pets (who don't benefit from spell power and hence not from nirnhorned's increase in spell power).
