Ever since datamining revealed the ambitious scope of The Elder Scrolls Online's Vvardenfell, speculation has run wild as to how content of that size would find its way into the game. Earlier today, we got our answer: The Elder Scrolls Online's first expansion will be here June 6th, 2017.
Entitled The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, the upcoming expansion will take players back to the isle of Vvardenfell for the first time since its original incarnation in TES: III 15 years ago.
The fate of Morrowind hangs in the balance and you must take up the mantle of a hero to help Vivec, the legendary warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, save the world from a deadly Daedric threat. Set roughly 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, ESO's new Chapter takes you to familiar locations as you attempt to solve the mystery of Vivec's mysterious illness and restore his strength. Travel from the volcanic Ashlands to the mushroom-filled forests, and walk the streets of Vivec City, still under construction at this point in time.
The upcoming Morrowind expansion will be the largest land mass addition to the game to date, featuring an estimated 30 hours of story to play through. In addition, players can look forward to:
- The Warden: an all new class with frost spells, nature spells, and a summonable bear
- Battleground PvP: three 4v4v4 battlegrounds with varying rulesets
- New Trial: Sotha Sil's Workshop
Pricing information and pre-orders are already available on the official site; be advised that the expansion is not considered a DLC, and thus access will not be included with the ESO Plus subcription. Additionally, the expansion is not purchasable with Crowns. Catch the full reveal on Bethesda's official Twitch channel.
