Conquering of Cyrodil

Does anyone know what will happen when a faction has control of the Imperial City? What benefits does the Emperor get? How will the other Factions get a chance at taking over? If they haven't gone into detail about these, what does everyone think would work well for the dominant faction?

Well there is somekind of siedge mechanic and I think the emperor would have somekind of  battle buffs. Like would be tempereraly a player controller boss or have temperary epic emperor specific gear that would pass in from one to another as new emperors come. And Daggerfall Covenant of course would dominate.

Well like was noted in Alpha, if you do a lot of damage to the a city it will be pretty easy for another faction to come in through the ruined walls and take the throne. Also if the starvation mechanic is used for the imperial city, you can take the Red Ring Road and the surrounding area and starve out the defenders. I'd assume, making them sally forth and fight you. So a quick strike with siege equipment will be costly. A longer siege however is harder to do and can take time allowing for reinforcements to arrive..

I want to know if we can send in a strike team to kill the emperor like you might send them in against an NPC, If you can then it would be pretty easy to take the throne, wouldn't it? So I think the Emperor might need some buffs to protect him from would be assassins and to make him a beast on the battlefield that can slay many elves. :P

Oh yes kill many elves. I think of opening scene from Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring opening scene with Sauron just wiping many-a-man with a single swing. Oh yes I want to be that. Ya'll know what I'm talking about.

Unfortunately theres been no confirmed information on actually being the Emperor as of yet. And only small pieces of information on PvP/Sieging itself.

I heard in interviews that Emperor Buffs will be present, whether that be stat buffs or what ever is unknown, something i've heard in TF is Royal Treasury, on the unlikely chance that is applied that would be insanely awesome. I also hear in interviews that the Emperor will be the faction who conquers highest champion on the Ranking at that time. Which i see as stupid say a guild fights hard and takes the throne, and instead of them deciding within themselves who it shall be, or them picking there best soldier, or their guild master it is just like "Yes we won who shall be put on the throne?" -- (far off in valenwood) "hey man just logged on wtf is with this crown on my head?" -- (back at throne) (231Killa has been appointed Emperor of all of Cyrodiil!) "dude wtf?!? stuff this im leaving" enemy faction "well empty throne..? owell lets take it" (repeat of entire scenario). its just a stupid concept and idea i hope it is not true.

Aika Online Lord Marshals (basically emperors but one for each of the 5 nations) usually take a party of six at minimum and one of them takes multiple parties to even subdue them, not to mention kill them.

Yeah, they gotta be careful with the emperor thing. People are gonna want the title just for the achievement and bragging rights, so they don't need to make it too OP for people to go after it. I'm in favour of buffs and other game mechanics to increase the emperor power, but anything too absurd and it stops being funny.

Would be a good temporary buff to the Emperor, if its feasible.   Special stats would apply to it and such but otherwise its just a sort of title-item that would separate that particular person from every other person around him/her.

    Could be a good idea

even if you could send a strike team to kill the emperor what will that do? killing the emperor dosn't automatically give you the throne. you have to capture the flags in the city to get the throne. Another thing would be a priest type character could just come and revive the emperor.

Well assassinating the Emperor would at least take out one threat and if he is in the throne room it means you can also now strike the enemy from both behind and from the inside.

Will there be a separate emperor for each RvR "campaign", or one for the entire maga-server?  In either case, I hope the leading RvR guilds/alliances of the winning side get to choose the emperor if they win.  The best and/or most popular leaders are often not the individuals with the highest personal kill-stats.

As for what the player emperor will be able to actually do while sitting on the throne, I am curious to see what ESO has in mind.

One partially-formed idea I had is that he/she will have to decide how to allocate the Imperial Treasury on things like repairing RvR objectives such as forts, bridges, etc.  If the funds aren't spent wisely, or if the opposing factions damage them faster than they can be repaired, then his/her own faction guilds either make the difference with their funds, or the RvR objectives become more and more vulnerable to attack.  To make it progressively harder to hold the throne long-term, the rate of replenishment of the treasury could slowly drop over time.

Maybe they could do was increasingly difficult to acquire the emperor strongholds such as causing them to become increasingly expensive
