I have not played the Beta but am trying to keep up with the information gained from Zenimax.

I was wondering if there is going to be anything like an Auction House system within the Elder Scrolls Online.
If so would some items be bound to the character that finds and loot them?
I could see a ninja problem with group activity as rip-off merchants will try bleeding you dry because they won the roll of the item you needed.

Will Auction House be faction locked?
So as to prevent collaboration with the enemy. As well as promote growth within your faction.
For example people informing their buddies when offline the names of your in-game characters. To look out for “sell” it to them through auction house and returning their gold by purchasing an overpriced trash item picked up.

Or would it be done by through some sort of neutral faction in Elder Dcrolls Online. That profits from the Faction Wars?
    Through a ‘healthy’ commision

There is no world-wide or faction auction house; however, Guilds have access to a Guild Store.  When a guild claims a keep in Cyrodiil (the PVP area) and owns a castle, if they have 50+ members, their  Guild Store is accessible to anybody who visits their keep from their faction.

In essence they are transient auction houses controlled by each individual guild…

If we have keep in Cyrodiil and have a store in it.What happen to staff in the store if we lose the keep ?

The guild never loses its guild store…if they drop below 50 members people will not be able to use it I believe (or maybe just buy existing items, but definitely not post any new items).

So if the keep is taken by the enemy, you just no longer have access to that guild’s store…but those guild members always have access.

It’s simply a way to make any particular guild’s store available to the public…

as a solo player 85% of the time and one who will focus on crafting. what will be the best way to purchase and sell crafted items and materials? I will more than likely not be part of a guild so I am a little confused if we do not have a auction house

The other option besides your guild capturing and constantly maintaining a Keep in Cyrodil to sell to others would be to join a Trade/Crafting Guild. There are a few that have popped up here on TF and I would suspect that they may get overwhelmed after launch once people realize more and more that there is no centralized auction house.

Ah. its a shame that there wont be an auction house.

    Ok thanks.
So as to not start another thread I wanna discuss other things.

does anyone know how they will handle storage?
From personal limit on how much you can carry to bag space, chests and banking.

Also am curious about if you can send items and resources to players on your account.

    Couple examples I will use.
World of Warcraft: You are unable to send anything cross-faction to players on your account.
Star Wars the Old Republic: You can send anything cross-faction to players on your account.

It’s closer to the Skyrim inventory system than bags in games like EQ or WoW.  You start with 50 spaces and can by more from vendors.  The first ten is around 500 gold and the next upgrade is around 2,000 if I remember correctly.  A developer video showed that he had 200 spaces in his inventory but I don’t know how many players can get.  Maybe it’s 200 but I don’t know.

I never used the bank and only received mail from my hirelings so I can’t help you there.

I admit I am a bit cautious as to how this will work starting at Launch.  I tend to not be a member of a large guild but stick to smaller, more personal, guilds.  As we progress towards launch I am hopeful that there will be a more friendly option for smaller guilds to still offer items for compulsive crafters.

I love the fact that they are not implementing the auction house. Hopefully it will cut down on the abuse of the economy while also providing yet another avenue where people will have to actually interact with people to trade and barter :)

I think you may be missing the point. There are those of us that do not want to join someone’s guild. I’m guessing a portion of those people who don’t join guilds will want to be crafters to make the money from selling goods. If there’s nothing other than personal storage for the individual player, how are they going to accomplish that goal of being an independent crafter?

That’s a tough one. Hopefully those folks will be able to sell through their primary guild interface to their guild-mates – that is assuming that they want to be in a guild. If they are a loner without a primary guild, they will probably have to hawk their wares over main channels, such as Zone or Regional. They could stand by a Waypoint to make it more easy for buyers to get to them.

Not sure if anyone else has a better solution at this time?

That’s why my guild exists.  It is just a guild store, no fuss.

If what you said is true then that will be a bonus.

Granted there would be a lot of Solo players to Elder Scrolls Online (seeing as the past games have been single player anyway)
But as a solo player I find that with MMOs “guildies” (as they are usually referred as) have a ‘guild members only’ approach to gameplay.

This motivates me to just get the job done.
Whether that is supplying resources for crafting and trade relations. or level / gear up to take out tough enemies.

Not sure yet how they will do dungeons and raids.
But I found that am awesome at getting into and sorting out Pugs.

While “trade guilds” are not a bad idea. I think a “for coin and country” approach may work better for trade relations.
Though until it goes live we can only speculate

there’s always the zone chat… although if you spam i’ll place your name in my ignore list. second i’m sure there will be “trading sites” set up online sooner rather than later with the sole purpose of letting people trade.

Yup, I’ll be focusing on crafting pretty heavily as well. No auction house – YEAH!
