    Hey guys, long story short, I’m a returning player who quit when magica DKS were nurfed into the ground. Have there been any improvements and are magic DKs viable again?

    Yes, they are not the all powerful gods (or demons) they were at launch, but quite viable these days and there is some degree of versatility in how you play them.

    In PVP at least, most seem to be running Burning Spellweave, Grothdarr and something like heavy seducers, kagrenac or other sustain / max magicka set. I don’t know much about PVE builds, but considering sustain changes for Morrowind patch, I’m sure there are quite a few planning to incorporate heavy lightning attacks into their dps and mag DK gets an easy 40% boost to these.

    However, you can really do a lot of different things with mag dk – for example, here is some ganking with magicka DK:

    Have also cleared veteran dungeons as magicka DK healer, which will get some buffs next patch. And JackDaniell has shared a fun original build with fire staff and lightning staff:

    You probably want to read the 3.0.0 patch notes on the ESO forums Public Test Server forum.

    If things go in as planned, DK is not going to be the class to play with the Morrowind expansion. Major nerfs to battle roar, helping hands, major mending effectively removed, doubling block cost, and across the board nerfs to all forms of regen, which is the achilles heal of DKs. I just dunno what they are thinking, but unless they revert some of the changes, DK’s will be struggling.

    As bad as the DK changes are, I simply cannot believe what they did to Templars.
