CP really is the smallest part. It literally takes about 5 Minutes to calc CP as soon as you have the other variables fixed.

okay… I don’t know very much tbh about what numbers I should have. I’ve never worked out CP before. :S

Thats why guides are written :=)

I will give you an idea about a thought process.

Ideally, you want as much Single Target DPS as possible and a Boss has 18.2k Armor. So what I do is try to figure out a way to get as close to 18.2k Penetration as possible without having to worry about over penetrating.

My raid group supplies 3 Armor Debuffs 100% of the time: Major Fracture, Night Mother’s Gaze and Infused Crushing. My Base Penetration is 100 and I know I want to use TFS.

    So 100+5000+5280+2580+2433 = 15393

So I already, without Mundus or Traits included, have 15.4k Penetration. Now I’m missing 2807 Penetration to reach the cap. What can I do?

    1) Sharpened Weapons give me 2752 – solid option, then im close to cap.
    2) Lover gives me 4197 – way too much. So I skip this one.
    3) Or I use 31 CP into Penetration to get the desired value.
    4) I could also consider running Kragh and get the missing few points from CP as well.

    Now what is “best” here?
Given that the CP System is Frontloaded, spending 0 points into piercing seems like a waste. Also Infused really adds some nice Single Target DPS. So I would prefer not to use 1). The difference between 3) and 4) is decided by preference mostly. I dont like Kra’gh as the 2pc is really buggy and often doesnt hit stuff. That’s why I prefer Velidreth – so I personally would probably aim for option 3).

    Hope that helps.

My grp has 1 sNB (me) and 2 sDK. We were thinking about having me running war machine+nmg, 1 dk run sunderflame and 1 dk run morag tong. Would we be able to skip TFS completely then and what do you think would be the best way to get to pen cap? Or do you just think this is a terrible idea.

We currently run the following setup:

    ME: TFS+War Machine
    sDK1: TFS+NMG
    sDK2: TFS+Powerful Assault

We’re waiting for the final patch because we do think TFS might get nerfed so make a final stand but it will most likely be like that in HotR

    ME: TFS+NMG
    sDK1: TFS+Sunderflame
    sDK2: TFS+Powerful Assault
    Tank: Morag Tong

If TFS stays the same, sDK1 could also use War Machine. WE just have to see because we dont have too many WM weapons :)

Do you think skipping tfs in favor of vo/wm/hr is viable?

nmg+sunder+fracture+infused crusher+kragh+31 piercing gets you to cap

alternatively you use 1 sharp and skip kragh but it messes up the bow bar

You can do it but I would literally skip everything else first before considering skipping TFS. I know I’m also preaching about Single Target DPS being THE thing but you actually butchering your AoE capabilities by skipping the set in favor of all those Single Target Debuffs.

Being honest here, your setup will work as well. Bosses will work out just fine and melt if you are all alive and do your job.

Not sure what the “next best thing” would be, considering you already use all support sets. Still need to test the new Leviathan Set but with VM/HR, you are not too far away from whatever will be BiS in your situation.

I wonder how the new sets gonna work into this stuff tho. I really wanna continue using selenes, but that new monster set might just be too strong.

Dont see the new set making a big impact. The ring is too big in many situations. So while I can see it being useful in some encounters, I dont think its going tp be a staple set.

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful! I’m just hoping now that they don’t nerf TFS or VO :O

For PvE, Velidreth is superior to Selene’s, though. So… get farming?

What’s about Mephala? Is there a chance it can compete with Veli?

I used to run veli but I switched to selenes and got 2.5k more DPS out of it.

Selene does better on single target, especially on dummies where you can stay on the target constantly and no adds are involved. But 2.5k more seems much. That’s more than the procc does itself.

It’s more a dk thing, but its main issue is that it is not mobile and the radius is quite small. In general, it’s a ok set.

Any idea on how to fix the multiple “Rending slashes bleed” showed by Srrendar? I suppose it’s related to other stam players in the group, and you can see the bleed that they apply to the target…the problem is, I never know if it’s my bleed or theirs, so I don’t know if I should reapply or not, because sometimes when I reapply, there are 2 rending slashes bleeds showed.

There should be a setting to only show your own effects in srendarr.

    Same, just different weapon traits.

TFS + WM or tfs+NMG are both very good.

Solo it seems to be OK as you gain your own source of minor invulnerability due to the shock damage.

I didn’t test it in depth, though.

I’m trying to convince my group’s StamDK here that Powerful Assault is the best option for him, but honestly I can’t do much better than “Jeckll says to do it” which sounds rather weak. Would you mind explaining why you have the supporter stam sets set up the way you do? Why are Nightblades better with NMG than Dragonknights? Thanks in advance!
