Thanks for this amazing guide. Really helpful and interesting to read through. As I’m a new player and still on my first character (216 CP as we speak), I’m just wondering if I’m expected to have yellow gear or purple? I’m really struggling with obtaining the items to upgrade my purples to yellow.

    Thanks again.

Noone should “expect” something from you other than yourself. Since you can already wear the best gear available (CP160), it’s okay to think about upgrading but you dont have to force it. Especially for new players with low budget, you should carefully consider what to upgrade to legendary.

    – Upgrade only if its the perfect item (best set, best trait) for the slot
    – Upgrading weapons is far more important than upgrading armor

You should however have purple set items on all slots by now.

To aquire more upgrade items, you should do crafting dailies and have hirelings skilled with as many characters as possible. Many of my guild mates do them with all 12 chars. I personally only do crafting dailies with my main char but I have Hirelings 2/3 for Woodworking, Clothing and Blacksmithing on 8 Characters, meaning once a day, I login and gather all the hireling mats, refine them and thats how I get most of my upgrade mats.

Hello, thanks @Jeckll for the vital guide, it helps us all the time :)

I have a question: I still do not have a Sharpened vMA bow, but I found a Nirnhoned one – should I be using it over NMG’s Sharpened bow? Keeping in mind as of yesterday I was able to get 5/5 VO and I’m now wearing NMG (5 on DW bar) + VO + Velidreth. So it’s basically [the Thundervolley enchant + 385 weapon dmg] vs [5160 penetration + ~3% crit from NMG bonus].

    Thanks again!

Not even a question, you want the Maelstrom Bow. Besides, you’d only have 4pc with the bow equipped, unlike the 5pc you have with DW.

Hey man, using your build since day one and really enjoying it. I cleard everything except of the vet trials and mahlstrom arena. Im using spriggans + shadow of the red mountain + kragh atm. Is red mountain still any good?

Also, i almost got my vicious ophidian completed and i am looking to get 2 spriggans daggers so i can make the build fit togheter. Sharpened spriggans is so damn expensive though, can i use precise instead? or is that too much of a loss?

    Thx dude!

Red mountain is not as good anymore. I would not use it.

You have 2 options : 2x sharpened Spriggan daggers to get 5 Spriggan, 5 vicious Ophidian or skip Spriggan and use 5 vo and craft 5 Nmg.

Using Spriggan with precise weapons is worse than using Nmg with sharpened ones.

thx for the replay mate. i guess ill drop my beloved spriggans then… Two fanged serpent + Hundings + Kragh  would also work right? got lucky in raids today with this set and i noticed that you have mentioned it in your guide as well.

Skipping the proc is even lower DPS though. The proc it self is about 2 Rapid Strikes. So in the space of focus+proc, you get the same damage as 1 Rapids. So focus+rapids is just an even higher DPS loss as you basically consume 2 globals for just half of Rapid Strikes damage. Then again, its all about being comfortable with the rotation i reckon, will try to get used to using the proc in the same place but on the front bar, its definitely higher potential.

Testing around today, I found the rotation where I use 1 relentless per round to be pretty good. Dps of barrage was lower than with hail which I think is due to my slacking. Whenever I dont do the rotation perfectly, rending, injection and barrage align very well. If I slack, I get the extra duration of hail to “buffer” my failure.

I will keep barrage for now.

I finally managed to get better results with Focus on the front bar hehe. Took a lot of practice to get used to the awkward animation and cancelling it, but now I seem to get it down pretty well. I too have switched to Arrow Barrage and haven’t had a drop in DPS when I didn’t screw things up for the whole target dummy fight. At this point its really being reapplied right after it runs out so you don’t eat any ticks. The animation also looks cooler and its nice to be able to actually have decent cleave damage with Arrow Barrage, Deadly Cloak and Rend.

Nicely done! (Not that we expect any less)

This touches on a debate I’m having with my raid guild. Until archaeologists can dig up some fossilized StamPlars, is it worth asking a healer to run PotL?

Our healer used it for the longest time but recently switched to Circle of Protection. Magicka DPS gets the Minor Breech from Poisons so I was the only one benefiting from PotL anyways.

Poisons from off-tank, I assume? That’s pretty creative.

I think it’s either the Healer or/and  a magicka dps. Pretty sure 2 ppl use the poison. As maelstrom staves are bugged, I dont think it’s a big Deal to use the poison.

Hey, it’s me again! So i’ve been getting from 20k-28k DPS and i feel like my rotation can be optimized a lot, so i’lll look to improve on that. I crafted myself NMG and got Kraghs and Alkosh to go along with it. All divines ofc. Just missing the shoulders… . Is that a setup i can be confident in upgrading to legendary? i can’t see myself finishing vMA anytime soon to get Maelstrom weapons.

    Hi there.
Regarding the upcoming changes to the Champion Point Systen in Morrowind, I would suggest farming Vicious Ophidian rather than Alkosh as a second set. Pretty sure sustain will be a real issue as soon as the Warlord gets removed and Mooncalf reduced to 15%. So I wouldnt go gold on Alkosh, yet. What you always should do is get legendary weapons. The rest is really nice to have but will not make such an huge impact as the weapons do.
