When you are in a situation that requires more survivability what skills do you sacrifice to keep yourself alive but also keep the damage up?

I would drop elemental ring for Harness magicka. This way you have a shield. Outside of that you should be set. Burning embers is your heal and Harness is your shield, thats all you need.

Pardon in advance but I am French so maybe my question has already been mentioned but I do not want to translate the previous 13 pages.
My question is, why take fire tongue in place of the molten whip?
Spicy Pretzl mentioned in one of his posts that the tongue of fire consumed the wall of lightning and that therefore it removed it for all the other players.
    What could you tell me?

This was only an issue in Homestead because nobody else was using skills/abilities that consumed Off-Balance. Now, everyone is either running a Heavy Attack build or a variant of it, thus making Flame Lash the preferred option. It also helps a DKs sustain :)

Characters | pretzL (Magicka NB) , Brannbil (Stamina Templar) , Spicy pretzL (Magicka DK) Campingbil (Magicka Sorc)

Guilds | HODOR & Who Pulled

Magicka DK Build | Kindling Power

What Pretzl said is exactly right and the DK sustain is pretty nice in all the old trials…as for HoF…yeah…ill keep my sorc for it for now while we learn the trial..

In your magplar thread, you’re telling us that dual sword front bar is more dps than lightning staff, even though magplar has a lot of aoe skills, even the spammable is an aoe.

Since magdk is melee too, and has a lot of single target skills, wouldn’t dual sword front bar be even more benefitial for dps ?

The Magplar is the only magicka class that can make use of the dual wield setup. This is primarily due to the fact that both Puncturing Sweep and Radiant Oppression are long channeled abilities, which severely reduce the conteibution of weaving when casting them. Additionaly, the extra spell damage from dual wield and the way the sword passive works makes the damage of all templar skills (single target or otherwise) hit harder. These unique conditions is what allow templar to successfully dual wield on the main bar. The same cannot be said when it comes to a DK, who has a very significant damage contribution coming from weaves, especially this patch with the buffing of light attack damage.

Why on the second panel a lightning staff?
How to properly use Flame Lash, so that the goal is as often as possible off balance?
Due to what we support the resource of mana?

    1. Lightning staff is for AoE

    2. You cant time Flame Lash. You either get the proc or not. Have to make sure sorcs run lightning blockade.

    3. Flame lash is the main thing that makes sustain easy.

Thank you. Elemental blockade should be on the panel of the lightning staff?
