    Nord Dragonknight

Not sure where to post this, but this looked like the best spot.
I’m fairly new to eso, and I’m running a Nord Dragonknight. I’m looking for avice/ builds for Dmg primarily, but possibly a tank if my group needs it. Right now I’m currently working on all of the quests, and running through the DLC’s, but Dungeons and trials are the end goal, and I don’t want to waste my time leveling up abilities that aren’t going to be useful for very long. All of my melee fighting styles are right around 20, and I’ve focused heavily on Earthen Heart abilities, but still leveling all 3. Thanks in advance.

You will use all, if not most of the skills in one way or another. Leveling all of them hedges you against the need to level them in the future, should you wish to do content you hadn’t thought of doing before.

Since you will have access to all of the DK class skills and the weapon skills, you might as well make full use of them, in order to optimise your role in damage or tank. Spend some time studying the skill trees, you will gain some baseline understanding of what skills you have at your disposal, what utility they provide and how you should structure your rotation, time your DoTs and manage your resources.

Since you are planning to work towards the lategame dungeons and trials, you should definitely consult the build threads in the DK theorycrafting sub-forum appropriate to your role. This should give you a better idea of the skills you will tend to use in the lategame, how they synergise with the recommended gear setup, stat distribution and rotation, and the kind of utility you will bring to empower the group. Through practice (i.e. doing group dungeons and seeking feedback from your group members), you will be able to determine the priorities of being a tank and a dps, whichever applicable; this together with improved understanding of group dungeon and common boss mechanics, will give you a solid foundation to build on when you eventually reach said lategame.
