Well. That looks extremely cool. I was minorly annoyed by the “Tel Var Stone system” being listed as if it were a a game system or feature, when it’s really just a currency you use to buy gear with (granted, the PvP looting component is pretty damn cool):

Rewards that are unmatched in power await those who are brave enough to enter the Imperial City and claim them. Fight Molag Bal’s personal guard, the elite Xivkyn, and other invaders from Coldharbour to win Tel Var Stones, the currency used to trade for mighty Veteran Rank 16 armor sets. But be on your guard—enemy Alliance members lurk around every corner throughout the Imperial Districts and Sewers. Should you fall to an enemy player, they can claim your hard-earned Tel Var Stones in their own quest for glory.

The ability to steal others Tel Var stones will be VERY interesting. Even though I am not super big on PvP (or very good at it) I like that. It adds a legitimate reason to attack enemy players besides just “for teh lulz.” I assume you still earn AP for kills, but still. I imagine this is also part of the reason for the changes to PvP regarding TTK (50% reduction in damage, shields, healing). Just think about how pissed you would be with a bag full of Tel Var stones and then getting one-shotted by some asshole. I am sure that it will still be possible to gank, but it will certainly be harder.

I’m excited. This looks good and besides the lingering failure to remove vet ranks this doesn’t seem like just another grind.

But I could’ve sworn somewhere an ESO dev said that the Imperial City would be free, but that may just be me. Not that I mind paying for it. It seems like there was a lot of work put into this.

Well, luckily for me, that PC date is less than a week after my birthday, I should be able to buy the crowns for this just before it launches. I need Imperial Daedric, aka Xivkyn. I just hope you don’t actually have to use some crafting station in the Imperial City to craft in that style, because that might mean you couldn’t have equipment with a set bonus, which would be utter garbage… >_<

Has there been a good look at ESOTU’s upcoming Glass armor style? I’m very curious about how that will look, especially in Medium armor, because that is what I use almost exclusively. I’m nervous as f*** about the Tel Var Stone system, Cyrodiil on PC is brutal, I may end up feeling like breaking something so many times, I am very competitive spirited but not the most competent, baaad combination… ._.

sounds awesome, and 2500 crowns isn’t a bad price.  this really looks like a huge update and i am glad they finally released some info.  kinda worried about the month in pts only.  and, i thought they had previously said that there were alternate entrances for factions that don’t hold the innre ring of keeps.

really, really, really looking forward to this, it is better than i expected.

edit: i’m also really excited about the changes to crafting.  crafted sets really need a buff.

Personally I’m not a fan of the path ESO is taking with the Imperial City DLC. Basically, this should have been released with a large PvE content release especially since they are bumping the terrible veteran system to vet 16. It seems ESO may be taking the path of a PvP focused game instead. The PvP is really broken with a huge gap in character progression due to the champion point system.

I am not sure how anyone can  be happy with the Tel Var Stone system unless they are at the top of the PvP game in champion points and AP, or they haven’t thought this through. Its going to let a small segment of people dominate the city so it’s nearly impossible for average gamers to use it. Essentially, the few dominant PvP players are going to farm your coins, simple as that, and accumulate and even greater advantage. Get ready for extreme ganking by nightblades, top end pvp players, and macros.

Since they are releasing such little PvE they really better get this right. ESO end game has become boring as far as PvE is concerned, they need more content release. If they don’t get this right, you will see the game become even less popular.

They did say it would be free for everyone, but they also said that before B2P and the Crown Store were announced i.e. when “everyone” could only mean paying subscribers. After the B2P and the Crown Store announcements, they indicated that all subscribed players would have access for free or it could be purchased on the Crown Store.

yep i kinda don’T know if investing into the dlc will pay off because i know how pvp is played and people can’t do shit against it. literally a buddy of mine is a tank running SO and such he was once farming shards in cyro.

Jumped down a ridge started green dragon blood and suddenly could not move. then had to watch a nightblade hitting on him for 12 seconds, he literally could not do anything his character just would not reac till he finally got killed. This is how broken these macros are they stunlock your opponent for you not with skills but ping your client to become unresponsive.

Yay we make this the core of our first dlc …
