    Hello

I wear war machine and night mothers gaze. I need a second armor set to exchange night mothers gaze if its necessary. Sorry for my beginners question, but whats better to have more crit or more weapon damage. I have understood, that critical damage increases only the chance of an critical hit. I wonder what is better, a armor set with weapon damage (defiler?) oder critical damage (hundings rage)?

Since you already have War Machine, I assume you are in an organised trial group. Replacement for NMG may depend on what other group-buff set your trial lead requires. If it isn’t required, then between your two options, I would prefer Hundings.

I don’t understand your categorisation of armour set between Defiler (for weapon damage) and Hundings (for critical chance)… There are 2 set crit bonus for both sets but Hundings also has a large weapon damage bonus as 5p bonus which is 2.31* that of the Defiler’s 2p bonus. Furthermore, Defiler’s 5p effect is a proc effect, which means that it cannot crit. Granted, I have not used the Defiler set beyond basic testing on the PTS 3.0, so maybe it depends on how much dps it actually contributes to you in a trial environment…but percentage wise, the higher your overall dps, the lower it will be.

    Still the same answer.
Hunding’s Rage is the correct alternative für NMG is your group already has someone who uses NMG.
Alternative would be Briarheart as this set comes with weapons and Jewelry. If additional Penetration is nessessary, Twice-Fanged Serpent and Spriggans are the best alternatives.

    Thank you for your reply.

I will wear Hunding`Rage because its craftable and I need it on saturday :-)

Maybe you wanna explain me the diffrent between crit chance and critical damage? My weaponcrit is 72 %. I means if I do 100 hits, 72 are critical, but I dont know how much is it. The critical damage on HundingRage are 688, does it means +688 on 72 Hits?

And the weapon damage are +299 (Hunding`Rage) only on inital damage not on damage over time?

    questioning greetings..

(sorry for my bad english, but google translation is worse!)

its not Critical Damage on Hunding’s Rage which is 688, but it increases your Crit Chance by 688. 219 is 1% crit. So 688 / 219 = 3,14% Crit Chance. As you correctly thought, your Crit Chance is the chance to critically strike.
Crit Damage however defines how much extra damage a critical strike does. The base value of this Modifier is 150%. So without any CP, Mundus, Skills or Gear…a critical strike does 1.5 times the damage of a non critical strike.

Weapon Damage applies to the damage you do (except fixed damage values like Glyph Enchants or Set Proccs). Dots, Direct Damage, Light Attacks, Skills..even Stamina based healing with Vigor scales with Weapon Damage.

I know I am embarrased again as I did in school in the math lesson but you dont know who I am *lol* but how do you come to 219?
I didn`t know that Dots benefits from weapon damage. Thank you very much for explaining. A bit I understand more. But only a little bit.

219 Crit Rating = 1% Crit Chance is just a fact I know. I didnt calculate it, its just how it is.

You can easily check that it’s true by sloting Mage Light or Expert Hunter. Both give 2191 Critical Rating and you can see in your Character Window that those skills increase your Crit Chance by 10%.

    Hi again,

I spent time to train my little nightblade.. but sorry, because of my stupid questions..its regarding my rotation and weaving und so on.I find out, the fight feels smarter, if I block after casting fokus and caltrops and hail, but this didn`t increase my damage.. I try to find my way ..maybe some day my rotation will be perfect.. some day and maybe ..

My rotation is .. focus -block-caltrops- block- poison inject.- swap

heavy attack/surpris- heavy attack/rendings slashes- light attack- heavy attack-swap

I watches videos from jeckll because of his rotation, but he is too fast for my old grey brain ..

I also try to light attack instead of block .. same sad result

I do 25 000 dps, but I cant get beyond the invisible limit. Maybe you have an advice for me and the sequence of my rotation?

    @Khira

It might be a timing or latency problem, where the blocking is either later than ideal or the duration of blocking being longer than desired. Are you able to record a video of your rotation so that fellow users could get a better understanding of your predicament, and provide advice appropriate to your situation?

Also, do you lose or gain dps (relative to your nominal 25k dps) if you don’t block or do light attacks in between your backbar skills?

    Hello

thank you for all answers, I have never made a video.First,  I have to learn how I can do this. :-)

The dungeons and some trials arent a problem anymore. My dps is enough for this. So Im glad..but not really. I know my little nightlade wants to beat the bosses in maelstrom. And sometimes I try it. In the arena the rotation is not so important anymore. The big problem is the lack of stamina.. without stamina I cant heal myself and cant dogde…

I did the arena in normal modus, but you cant learn the mechanics for vet. modus. Stage one is no problem, now I know the spawn points of the enemies, but if  I do not pay attention for one second..than  Im a dead little nightblade but I guess, my dps is enough for the arena.

I know some of you has the archivement flawless conquerer, but how? To restore stamina with heavy attacks are very slow and the archers are very fast.

I hope you have fun with my nice english.
