I love every bit of this. Well played.
Welcome to TF and ESO!
You can’t really ruin a character in ESO. You can always respec and try something new on the same character.
As for your question, you could go for a 1HS magicka templar tank or something, but bow and magicka really doesn’t mix well.
You could also just respec to stamina and use your bow and 1HS. It won’t be optimal, but…[Read more]
I will go ahead and point out that my main is a sorc damage dealer and master crfter that started out as a healer. Does just fine nowadays
You really can’t “ruin” a character in ESO. Just respec and change things around. Switch up your playstyle. Start using a destro staff. All you need to do to bring your character in line with how you want…[Read more]
I suppose what I meant by “fun” was more along the lines of “off-meta”. If you were looking for a bomb-blade build, I know you know where to find them, but that doesn’t seem to be the purpose of this thread.
And I guess when I think solo play in pvp, I think of the ability to gtfo when things go bad, and DK doesn’t really have the ability to do…[Read more]
Hmmm, are you looking for fun or efficacy here? The first thing that comes to mind for a dunmer solo magicka player is a magicka nightblade, but I am also suuuuper out of date when it comes to pvp.
The overload sorc is actually an old build from when fights were shorter and burst dps was the way to go. Not trying to call you out, just pointing it out since there is a great deal of information to help you refine your build.
A test I would run without going much further is to go to a target skeleton with a full bar of overload and find out…[Read more]
Hmm, damn. It seems the video I was thinking about is referring to PvP. Here’s the link anyways:
Regardless, Deltia’s website still has a lot of info regarding which stats to prioritize for DPS, and I stand by my Crit>Penetration>weapon damage statement from earler.
It is not optimal as far as I know. Check out Deltia’s gaming. He recently put out a video on YouTube comparing some top stamina gear sets. I would advise taking a look.
As a rule though, you will want to focus on crit chance, penetration, and weapon damage over raw stamina.

Okay, so you are practically at cp160. Once you hit that mark, a lot of gear options will open up for you. Regardless, you can start with the skill suggestions right now.
Completed dungeons will be full white on your map, while uncompleted dungeons will be black with a white outline. You can also check your journal in the Achievements section.
So, can you just clear up for us whether this is a pvp or a pve build? If a pve build, you should know that mobs can’t crit, so your crit resist is a worthless stat.
Also, I highly advise you check out a recent video from Deltia’s Gaming on the efficacy if gold gear. His tests were minimal, but the gist is that gold armor only improves your…[Read more]

Okay wow yeah, I had assumed this was for pve, but now I look at it you are right this sounds more like pvp. That said, a staff isn’t AS necessary by any means, but it will still be very good for the ultimate, which has kinda taken the place of meteor in pvp. Given my limited pvp knowledge, I’I’ll let others take it from here.

True. I guess I was trying to focus more on having each bar serve a specific purpose in order to minimize bar swapping.
Hundings was certainly on my short list, but something just feels wrong to me to craft it in heavy lol. Besides, I figured this was a good opportunity to employ some off-beat sets. We could also do a…[Read more]
Alright then, let’s get started.
Given your parameters, it sounds like you want a stamina-based build. At least, that is what would work best with your weapon choices. I will say upfront that medium armor would be better for this kind of build, but you want heavy armor, so we will stick with that and find something that works.
I looked…[Read more]
Welcome to TF!
Now, I think we can work with what you want to acheive, but first we need to know exactly what you mean by “bad.”
Are you having trouble with groups? Can’t kill quest bosses or world bosses? Feel like you keep dying? Can’t sustain your resources? Things don’t die fast enough?
Knowing exactly what problems you are having will help…[Read more]
Shooting star is also excellent, and if you prefer it that is no problem. However the weaving damage, blockade of elements, and the passives are the big parts.
As for the staff, go sharpened over precise. While crit is very good, sharpened outperforms precise by a wide margin. I should adjust my earlier statement to say that crit AND penetration…[Read more]
You should absolutely run destro staff. A respectable part of your damage is weaving, which will be crap on a mag build with stam weapons.
Spell damage isn’t everything. In an organized for up crit is a much more powerful damage modifier. There are still a few magicka builds where DW is okay (templars) but generally for DK you will want the…[Read more]
Yeah, it’s not glorious, but @FrancisCrawford is right: Go join a zerg. You don’t necessarily have to heal in it (though that will probably be more effective than trying to kill people), but being part of a large group for the safety when you are new is key.
Just being able to stay alive longer will help you understand how cyrodiil works: where…[Read more]
I would ask @chaomera888. He is a mDK that runs double destro in pvp.

No worries! ESO is an immensely complex game, and doesn’t do a very good job of educating players.
I guess the point I am trying to get across is this: Level light armor. Make sure that when you hit level 50, your light armor is at 50 as well. You will need it for group content. Seriously, if you show up to a dungeon as a…[Read more]
