Everything @mrowmrif2 said is pretty much correct from a meta standpoint. 2H just isn’t very useful in group pve.
Uppercut is outperformed by rapid strikes from dual wield.
Cleave is outperformed by steel tornado.
Critical rush is a gap closer ability that is entirely unnecessary for group content. Your tank should be controlling the mobs for…[Read more]
That is incredibly bizarre. Things like that should never happen.
I can think of only two possibilities: you have an extremely bizarre and unique bug that is causing it, or your account has been hacked/someone has access to your account.
I recommend changing your password immediately as a preliminary measure and see if you continue to have…[Read more]
All classes work pretty well with stamina. They all share a common flaw, which is limited early access to healing. Easiest to learn would probably be either templar or sorc. Dragonknight is a bit more complex, and nightblade, while interesting, is a bit harder to keep alive in the early game.
It occurs to me that we never really discussed the various ways flat cost reduction interacts with percent cost reduction.
Let’s go ahead and use an Altmer magicka sorcerer DPS build as an example (keep in mind that the sorc would probably want spell damage glyphs instead of etiher cost reduction or regen, but whatever). We assume they are in…[Read more]
Really cool build! Glad to see people starting to use the new ice staff changes.
I do have a question/comment about your sets. How necessary do you really feel having 2 ult gain sets is? Couldn’t you slot Soul Harvest on your trash bar to charge faster, and employ a set that helps your survivability/damage/resource management instead?
Thanks for posting!

To clarify Mrow’s comment though, since you bought the Gold Edition you outright own (as much as you can digitally own something) the first 4 DLC. You will have to either buy or subscribe in order to access all subsequent DLC though.
While Mrow is probably correct in that it might be just as easy to level a new char, if you are certain you want to do it on this character, the biggest difficulty will be grinding up your skills and morphs for the play style. You can overcome racials that don’t match your build, but you are going to need the right skills to be successful.
Global is short hand for Global Cooldown, which is abbreviated as GCD.
Basically there us a hard cooldown on the number of skills you can use in a certain amount of time. In ESO, you can only cast once per second, so the GCD is 1 second.
In order to optimize efficiency, players use things like weaving and block cancelling to make sure that…[Read more]

Because once your alt hits level 50, you immediately are able to equip cp160 gear. The CP are earned and then “copied” as Francis said for each character, allowing you to level an alt faster, and avoid the cp grind a second time. it also rewards you for playing other alts above level 50 without feeling like you are stunting…[Read more]
I appreciate the tone change, and I agree with you that there is useful information here. Though it has been covered in many other places many times before, it isn’t necessarily all in one place.
As for pvp vs pve, the answer has actually already been answered in this thread, just not explicitly. In pve, a dps is expected to be using their…[Read more]
Cost reduction value: 203
Recovery Value: 169
Magicka “gained” from cost reduction: 203/second (assuming you cast an ability perfectly on every single GCD).
Magicka gained from recovery: 169/2 seconds = ~84/second (does not depend on frequency of casting).
Keep in mind that the recovery on the ring will scale with percent amplifiers like…[Read more]
Build updated for Homestead. Not too many changes, but I figured I would keep it current. Enjoy!
I don’t think such a thing exists, sadly. Nothing that is widely used at least.
If are okay with doing so, then start from scratch. Don’t delete you other chars or anything, but enough has changed in the game that learning it anew wouldn’t be the worst thing.
I would stick to a single alliance storyline that you like and get through it before moving on to the next. This is purely from a story standpoint. Some…[Read more]
Dual wield has fallen out of favor a bit for magicka dps. With the recent buffs, you are better off going lighting staff/fire staff for AoE/single target respectively. The DW builds were mainly for the old overload builds, which are a lot harder to consistently perform with now that max ult has been nerfed from 1000 to 500 so you can’t build up as…[Read more]
Trials are 12 players. If you have a hankering for large group content, and haven’t tried trials yet, you are missing out. Start with the normal trials. Aetherian Archive is probably the easier starting point.
I am a assuming you are 160 CP or close. I personally wouldn’t go into trials until at least 100cp.
Your last paragraph answers the question, I think. If your goal is to belong to a friendly casual guild that has fun with normal trials and maybe tries to work towards veteran ones, then by Azura you go right ahead and play that redguard magblade. I am a major proponent of aesthetics being a tremendous component of enjoyment in a game. If you…[Read more]
If you are going DW/bow, then rend would have to go on your DW bar since it is a DW ability.
I have a couple minor tips. Remove vigor from your bow bar and move caltrops there. That makes space for rending slashes (single target DoT) on your DW bar. You will want the extra DPS for boss fights. If someone is already running caltrops in your group, swap to rearming trap. It is essentially a required skill for PvE DPS. The other ability you…[Read more]
I personally like AD best, with DC as a close second, and strongly dislike EP.
I think AD has a more cohesive and well paced story overall, but DC has better individual zones (eg Rivenspire)
EP I feel like the storyline is very poorly paced, and not very coheisve. I also don’t feel much connection to the pact as a whole playing EP, whereas AD…[Read more]
