Zenimax Online gave us a treat today, and released their second video about The Elder Scrolls Online. The video “Alliances at War” talks about the lore behind each faction, and their motives for war and the Ruby Throne. While this video isn’t about game mechanics or design, it’s still a great watch none-the-less, and I hope you guys enjoy the video.

Now I am ever more exited! Will be interesting to see deeper into the reasons behind war and the daedra.

I was actually happy with all the different alliances motives of taking the Ruby Throne. While I do wish it was a gameplay video, I sure do love lore, so I can’t be too disappointed.

agree, strong lore is just as important as gameplay to me

Well, that is what I needed to get me through the day. Certainly enjoyable to hear little bit more about the background of the alliances.

I’m slightly disappointed Not necessarily on the video itself, but I would much rather hear about gameplay mechanics then lore. I enjoy the lore of TES, however with being under a year till release, I’m sure they have enough gameplay information to release small bits once a week until release.
Either way, I think the most compelling feature of this lore is that no one really knows if each faction is being righteous in their own right, or simply gunning for control (Perhaps both simultaneously).
You will learn… No king rules forever. Only death is eternal.

Yes, we all want more info about mechanics and gameplay, but I’m glad to hear that the three factions will have very different points of view. It means that we’ll have different experiences in each faction, and I’m glad to know that !
The next thing I want to know about lore is how each race sees itself in this war and in their proper alliance

I definitely like the whole “no single truth” idea – makes me not feel so bad for playing in the Aldmeri Dominion, which a lot of people consider to be the “bad guys.” Another thing that’s interesting to me is how they’ve created a really compelling central enemy in addition to the alliance war; with so many different entities to fight, there should always be something to do! And I’m not sure if we’ve heard this before, but the music to this video was pretty great, especially towards the end.
P.S. Did anyone else keep the video playing for the last 15 seconds thinking there would be some awesome sneak of information like movies have after the credits?
